The World Union of Catholic Women’s Organisations (WUCWO) was founded in 1910 and now represents 100 Catholic women’s organisations worldwide, active in 66 countries including all continents and some island states,
representing more than eight (8) million Catholic women of every walk of life. WUCWO’s aim is to promote the presence, participation and co-responsibility of Catholic women in society and the Church, in order to enable them to fulfil their mission of evangelisation and to work for human development, particularly in increasing educational opportunities, poverty reduction and the advancement of human rights beginning with the fundamental right to life.

On December 2, 1968, with episcopal approval of the Florida Bishops, the Presidents and Moderators of the existing Arch/Diocesan Councils of Catholic Women of the Province of Miami met in Orlando, under the direction of Marie Palmer, National Director and Third Vice-President of NCCW, to establish the Miami Provincial Council, later changed to the Florida Council of Catholic
The Archdiocese of Miami is home to over half a million Catholics in Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe Counties. Mass is celebrated in a dozen languages. We have 109 parishes and missions, including the National Shrine of Our Lady of Charity; and 62 schools, including 13 high schools and one virtual school. The archdiocese is led by Archbishop Thomas Wenski.
